Sixth annual Generation WORKS

Deutsche Bank has once again partnered with Generation W for the annual “Generation Works Day of Service.” This is the 6th consecutive year that the bank’s Jacksonville staff have participated in what is the location’s largest volunteer event of the year.

“It’s inspiring and humbling to see what we have accomplished year after year through our partnership with Generation W,” said Brian Fay, Head of Jacksonville. “I am so proud of our volunteers and their commitment to making our community a better place for so many people. We look forward to continuing our work with this wonderful organization.”

Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation has been providing a grant to Gen W since inception as part of its support of underserved neighborhoods. This year, more than 200 Deutsche Bank volunteers spent the day helping to transform schools and organizations within Jacksonville. As in past years, the Deutsche Bank teams worked across various locations, including two non-profits, JASMYN and Angelwood; as well as Ramona Elementary School and Arlington Heights Elementary School. This year, the bank also volunteered at two new sites, Terry Parker High School and Longbranch Elementary School.

This event encourages the participation of those who benefit from the hard work of the volunteers. The interactions between bank volunteers and those benefiting from the projects instills a sense of accomplishment and pride that stays with the team throughout the year. “It was a real pleasure to see the students of Terry Parker High School taking active roles to help improve and beautify their own school,” said COO’s Jeremiah Gerena. Gerena served as the site lead at Terry Parker High where volunteers spent the day painting in the library, revitalizing common outdoor areas with fresh mulch, building benches for more functional student courtyards as well as other beautification projects.
