Deutsche Bank volunteers support earthquake-affected Noto Peninsula in Japan
In the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck the Noto Peninsula in January, Deutsche Bank quickly responded by donating to Second Harvest Japan (2HJ), a non-profit organisation dedicated to food assistance. Last week, a dedicated team of our staff volunteers traveled to the earthquake-stricken area to assist 2HJ in establishing a new local base for the non-profit. This base is crucial to support ongoing relief efforts and ensuring that food assistance reaches those most in need.
Deutsche Bank's donation was the first step in various approaches to aid the affected area, creating the way for our volunteers' subsequent engagement.
“It's an honor to help support the affected area through 2HJ,” said Deutsche Bank volunteer, Joerg Werner. “We have travelled to the area moved by the urgent need and profound challenges the community is facing.”
Tamio Honma, Japan Chief Country Officer commented; "This support reflects our deep commitment to our local communities. Alongside financial support, we are committed to direct relationships through volunteering to make a difference.
