Deutsche Bank Japan a ‘Gold’ standard LGBT-friendly workplace third year in a row
Deutsche Bank’s Japan franchise’s efforts to create a more inclusive work place for LGBT employees were recognised as the bank was rated as a ‘Gold standard’ LGBT friendly workplace third year in a row by Work with Pride. work with Pride(wwP), a voluntary organisation, wasestablished in 2012 to promote. Deutsche Bank Group is among the 150+ companies recognised at an award ceremony in Tokyo on October 11th.
The award was received by Masa Yanagisawa, who is Deutsche Securities’ Co-head of Japanese Equity Sales, Keiichi Homma, Director of Fixed Income & Currencies and Kaoru Nakamura Vice President at Credit Risk Management, who are leading members of Deutsche Bank Group’s dbPride, a network for LGBT employees and LGBT allies. Yanagisawa, was also featured among the Leading 100 LGBT + Executives by Financial Times and OUTstanding, third year in a row. He helped launch the first LGBTI Workplace Equality Index in Japan, as a founding partner of ‘Work with Pride’. , Nakamura said, “It is a great honor to receive the Gold Status threeyears in a row. dbPride will continue to work towards achieving an inclusive workplace as well as to demonstrate the benefits which an inclusive working environment could bring across the board to organisations and their people.”

work with Pride’s awards were decided based on wwP’s PRIDE INDEX. The index covers and evaluates company policies; establishment of networks for LGBT employees and allies; efforts to raise awareness among the overall employee population; human resource management practices; and company programmes and activities to assimilate social awareness of sexual minorities. Deutsche Bank Japan established its dbPride network to support its LGBT employees and their allies in Japan in November 2013. dbPride regularly hosts diversity networking events, and is an active participant in a number of events to build outreach to the broader community, such as IDAHOT Day (International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia), Tokyo Pride Parade and works with industry peers through LGBT Finance.
