Performance Comparison Benchmark: MSCI ACWI Metals & Mining 30% Buffer 10/40 Index
The performance comparison benchmark is not the expected yield, does not represent the future performance and actual yield of the product, and does not constitute a commitment to the product yield.
Reasons for selecting performance comparison benchmark, calculation basis and calculation method: BGF World Mining Fund Objectives and Investment Strategy: To maximise total return by investing at least 70% of the Fund’s total assets in stocks of companies worldwide with the majority of their business in the production of base metals and industrial minerals such as iron ore and coal. The Fund may also invest in stocks of companies with the majority of their business in gold or other precious metal or mineral mining. The Fund does not invest in physical gold or metal. The benchmark of the Fund is MSCI ACWI Metals & Mining 30% Buffer 10/40 Index. The benchmark of the Fund was changed on 18 August 2020 as the current benchmark is considered to be more representative of the scope of the Fund's investable universe.
The Fund is actively managed, and the Investment Adviser has discretion to select the Fund's investments. In doing so, the Investment Adviser will refer to the MSCI ACWI Metals & Mining 30% Buffer 10/40 Index (the “Index”) when constructing the Fund’s portfolio, and also for risk management purposes to ensure that the active risk (i.e. degree of deviation from the Index) taken by the Fund remains appropriate given the Fund’s investment objective and policy. The Investment Adviser is not bound by the components or weighting of the Index when selecting investments. The Investment Adviser may also use its discretion to invest in securities not included in the Index in order to take advantage of specific investment opportunities. However, the industry sector requirements of the investment objective and policy may have the effect of limiting the extent to which the portfolio holdings will deviate from the Index. The Index should be used by investors to compare the performance of the Fund.
