Deutsche Bank today announced that Steve Hair has joined as Head of Platform Sales for its Institutional Client Group (ICG) in Australia.
Steve brings more than 15 years of experience in clearing across Australia and the broader Asia Pacific region. He joins from Citi, where he recently served as APAC Head of Futures Relationship Management, OTC Clearing and FX Prime Brokerage. Prior to this, he spent over a decade at Credit Suisse, leading its client solutions business for Futures and OTC Clearing.
In his new role, Steve will build on Deutsche Bank’s strong Listed Derivatives execution franchise, expanding clearing sales across Futures and OTC markets. Clearing is a critical part of financial market infrastructure, enabling the secure settlement of derivatives transactions and supporting clients in managing counterparty risk. Steve is based in Sydney and reports locally to Andrew Walker (Head of LD Sales and Execution APAC) and Praveen Vijay (Head of Platform Sales APAC) based in Singapore.
Matthew Yencken, Head of Institutional Client Group, Australia, said: “Deutsche Bank is well positioned to address evolving client needs in the clearing market, particularly among superannuation funds. Steve’s appointment reflects the bank’s ongoing investment in our Australian platform and institutional client coverage.”
